Purpose of travel shots
Immunizations are typically administered to help prevent communicable diseases such as hepatitis A, Polio and Typhoid Fever that may be spread by insects and contaminated food and water. In addition, certain countries require proof of vaccination against diseases like yellow fever. Vaccinations help ensure that you will have a safe travel, wherever your travel destination may be.

AEHS travel medicine is a one-stop health destination for the international traveler: immunizations, travel medications, travel counseling and follow-up service for boosters. Seasonal and H1N1 flu shots are also available during the flu season.

Which shots to choose
Our recommendations for travel immunization are based on the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). In addition to carrying most vaccines, AEHS travel clinic is a certified yellow fever vaccination center.

When to start travel immunization
Travel immunization should ideally begin at least 2-6 weeks before departing. Even if you are traveling tomorrow, it is better to start the injection series rather than getting no protection at all.

Other travel services
Our clinic also provides prescriptions for antibiotics, anti-diarrheal pills and medications to prevent malaria, high-altitude, and sea sickness.

Insurance reimbursements
We can provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your health insurance for reimbursement. Check with your health insurance plan to see if travel vaccines are covered. However, most insurers typically do not cover travel vaccines.
